Sarah also grew up on Central Illinois farmland in the same school district as David -- they were high school sweethearts. Following high school she went on to attend Fort Wayne Bible College (now, Taylor University Ft. Wayne) and the University of Illinois. After marrying David, she graduated with a bachelors degree in English secondary education.   Sarah has worked as a teacher, but has found fulfillment in her time as a missionary, homemaker and mom.
After 22 years of partnership in marriage, God began to plant a burden in this couple's hearts.  After visiting Albania on a short term missions trip in 1993 with a group of American farmers, David felt God calling him to return with Sarah to work with Albanian people to share not only their farming knowledge but also the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Thus the Planters Seed Foundation was born, planting seeds of the Gospel alongside the seeds for food.
