PSF:  What kind of barriers do the team face in training the children in the way they should go?

ARIAN:  There are many barriers but I can mention a few of them.  One of them is the opinion that people have about Christians.  It’s very difficult because the parents are putting pressure on the kids not to come to the meeting because they believe their children will change their religion.  They don’t know who we are and what we are doing.   But as far as we know the children are telling their families what we are doing and even [of] God.  So I have seen that the parents are beginning to understand and some of the parents are pleased to let their kids come.  But there are some villages, especially in Marikaj the parents are being a big barrier not letting their kids come in the meetings.  So in Marikaj it is the most difficult right now that the parents are putting pressure on the kids even though the children show so much interest.  It’s much easier that this verse can be fulfilled in the other villages.  Every day that goes the children are different they are much lighter in their understanding of the things of the Lord which they receive with a greater spirit.  To believe in their hearts what they are looking forward to believe.  Not to be pushed and pressured by their parents what to believe or not to believe.  So I must say that I am very optimistic of the fulfillment of this verse.
MERSIN:  … parents, because they are muslims.  They just tell to their children you can go do, play, sing and do what they do but don’t believe what they believe.  I think this is the most important.  The other [barriers] can be the circumstances around them, how they affect one another because they are not bad children but they have [poor influences] from their peers.

KLARA:  In the three villages, usually I [lead] Bible study.  One village that I see is a big problem is Marikaj because when I go to Kasalle, not just during the Bible study but during the other parts of the meeting, they are all ears, how can I say?  They all the time listen to us and they want to get the word of God inside of them.  Even here in Vlashaj, the children all the time they read the Bible and they come to us and say, “Explain me this verse, I love this verse…” or, you know, it seems that they are really interested.

But in Marikaj I see a little bit of a problem.  Because it seems that in their family they have a really strong tradition and sometimes they will not allow their children to come in our meeting because they say, “You are a muslim, you don’t have to go there.  And if you go there, you will change your religion, and it’s not good, this thing.”  And we see that in Marikaj, this is a big problem, and we should pray, pray a lot for this thing.  Seriously, we should pray
