The Americans were greatly outnumbered on this day in
Marikaj! But unlike the Alamo and
the Little Big Horn the numbers were unified in joy and celebration. The
smiling, waving children compliment the smiling, waving Americans that came
as guests of Planters to participate in the village work.
Greg and David from Illinois, and Sarah and Jesse, from
Kentucky, fit right in with the children.
Joy! Yes, of course! And I didn’t mention the fun off
camera we had as well. Their expression of love, gestures and conversations
toward the American visitors seemed to insulate the children for the moment
from all the demands outside the ministry center’s door! Because when these
kids go out into the village night, their little innocent lives are
ridiculed and altered from anything normal. |
