We felt
flat last night. Deciding to
take a neighborhood walk we soon discovered the glitter of shops and the
bustle of traffic. We strolled
past cramped parking and the rush of horns and plenty of people.
After this therapy and nearing our return home Sarah saw this
sign in one of our local restaurants, “Eating is a need, speaking is
human, thinking is life itself and understanding is a miracle.”
I think the owner of the restaurant has hit the nail squarely on
the head. There is a miracle
to true understanding.
God tells us in Proverbs 3 to do what?
“Trust in him with all your heart and not depend on your own
understanding.” (Paraphrase
is mine)
God knows what is best for us.
Nothing is assured from our own understanding.
If we yield important matters to Him, according to Unger, He
promises to “differentiate between the useful and the hurtful, between
the true and the false.” Whether
in
America
or in
Albania
wholehearted trust in Him
promises direction and guidance!
As a
short-term missionary or even a lay worker, how do you teach a miracle?
You don’t! We must teach our friends God’s word which, when
listened to and corrected by, will bring God’s best to them and for us.
Understanding is a miracle because true understanding comes from
God, the wise counselor.
