Business guru, Warren Bennis, spent several years researching
leaders and managers. His goal was to find common traits from both fields.
Then pinpointing these traits he would be led to their respective
distinctions as well. He came to some interesting conclusions. Leaders are
“people who do the right thing; managers are people who do things right.”
But he said that he had often seen people in high positions doing wrong
things well.
Jesus says the man who does the right thing “...comes to me, hears
my words, and puts them into practice.” He follows with a story of a man
that
while digging for a new house, digs deep. The deep digging results in a
foundation of rocks so that when the floods came, the building and the
man’s wisdom would prevail.
Sarah and I trust in the wisdom God gives us in Albania. Rocks
laid deep in the foundation of the director’s house (pictured) will keep our
building strong! Luke 6:48 -49
They have a great saying in the village about right-living coupled
with wisdom. “If there was wisdom in beards, all goats would be
professors!” Pray that the wisdom given to us by God is apparent and
appealing to all.
