The ultimate champ in horse racing is the winner of the
Triple Crown. After training and competition the big winner of three
special races takes the spotlight. A lot of horses have won races but only
a handful has ever won the Triple Crown.
I want to
introduce you to three little champions from
Kasalle. These little girls
truly are winners in the race of life, winners of their own Triple Crown.
From the very moment these little girls walk up the stairs to our meeting
place, they’re linked together arm in arm, sometimes even wearing each
other’s coat or switching boots. They’re always together; that’s the way of
champions. They’re showing the rest of us “friend growing”. Their real
connection is their togetherness.
In John
15:12-14, John brings us face to face with friendship and love. Growing
friends is like growing a very important crop requiring our utmost
attention. Through all kinds of weather this crop (life) must endure all
kinds of cultivation (events) and drought (hardship). The girls’ crop will
flourish, given their amount of love invested. These three friends are
building on each other for a lifetime of friendship. They will learn
through sacrifice, encouragement, and respect, and with these
characteristics they’re tending to cultivate friendships that flourish.
These three winners are each part of a triple crown.
