Olti, Anselmo and Arber meet every Friday afternoon for
discipleship class with our team leader,
Arjan. The lesson today was from I Corinthians 9:15-26 -- Paul’s
message of why he was compelled to share his faith, and running the race as
hard as he can because the reward is for eternity. I was curious to know if
these young Albanian male minds had captured the significance of the
Christian race towards eternal values. Here are their answers:
Olti: “Yes, we need to
become servants to others like Paul was.”
Anselmo: “Pride makes us
fall easy and so we must be humble.”
Arber: “We need to see
ourselves as God sees us.”
These young men are the
future of a small Albanian village where male ego runs longer than the great
Chinese wall. Oh, that we keep them in our prayers so that these tender
minds stay tender. The dark world where they live seeks 24/7 to snatch them
at any moment it can.
