Moses sent an order
to his slave drivers. “Do not supply the people with any more straw
for making bricks. Let them get it themselves. But don’t reduce
their quotas by a single brick. They obviously don’t have enough
to do." Exodus 5:7-8
I’ll give you twenty
seconds to connect the dots with the picture and the scripture written
above. Here are some of my definitions:
Slave drivers---a person who answers very few questions and usually has to
hunt for the resource of love. He always stands to the side and is too
chicken to get in the picture.
Bricks---actually
these are old tiles made from Greek mud (with very little straw) At
seven pounds each and three thousand of them to move, it made their
relocation the order of a slave driver. (I know that I am cheating with the
wheelbarrow but I bribed the slave driver.)
Quotas---quotas
are hardly new to the guy in the picture. My wife sets the "quotas" bar
high on daily life. Quotas are not a violation of individual rights, so says the slave driver.
"Not enough to do"--- it’s an affiliate of too much time on your hands. It is also
a hostile takeover of laziness.
I finished the job of
the Greek tiles with less dramatic flare than that of Moses, Aaron and
Pharaoh.
