February 10, 2005  --  Shop 'til You Drop

"I had to stand on a bag of peanuts from China to take this picture.”
     What a great opening line.
Sarah is pointing while Stephanie (in the pink) is going to find the butter.  This store has got to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.  It promises to have 12,000 items in an 8’x10’ room.  Another big guy and I had to take turns coming and going.  I must warn you that if you grab a bag of rice you will quickly discover the domino effect.  But it’s a great place to find staples for the needy at a decent price.  And that was just what we were doing here. -- David

Urgent Prayer Requests:

1.) Tomorrow (Friday) afternoon we are interviewing a married couple for the position of Program Coordinators for PSF.  Their job duties would be to coordinate the growing classes and programs offered at the Vlashaj ministry center as well as provide a consistent, day-to-day presence for PSF in this village.  We are growing in our relationships with the families of our Vlashaj kids' club and discipleship students and pray that someday soon a church might be planted here!  The couple being interviewed has an 8 year old daughter and a baby due in April.  They will graduate from Albanian Bible Institute (Durres) in May.  Pray that we might have discernment in taking this next step.

2.)  "Lasagna and Lips" -- Stephanie and Eldina are hosting a girls' night out party Friday night for the girls' discipleship class in the apartment at the Vlashaj center.  These young teens will enjoy a night of food, games, and make-up with their mentor Eldina and short-term missionary friend, Stephanie.  Pray that this will be a great time of fellowship and an opportunity for them to continue to find their identity in Christ as young women.

3.) "Road Trip!" -- Saturday David, Sarah, Stephanie, and the Bright Star Team will be loading up the kids and picnic baskets for a day on the beach, on a part of the Adriatic coast just north of the city of Vlore.  They expect about forty youngsters for this special field trip.  Most of them come from families who do not have cars so this will be an especially memorable travel event (two hours each way).  Pray for the special devotional message they will hear on the beach, that they might be spared from injury and accident from departure to return, and that they might understand that Planters cares for them!
