We
always enjoy doing something for the first time here in Albania. This time,
it was Mandi's idea. He rented a bus to take the kids from our
Vlashaj village to the
beach to have a day away. For most of the children this was the first time
to ever go anywhere without their parents and to this particular beach site
about two hours away. With permission slips in hand, lunches packed and
smiles on board, we took off for the day with not a cloud in the sky. The
day was wonderful. There were games played---soccer, volleyball, tug of war,
jump rope, potato sack races, relay races, parachute activities, and of
course lunch time. The kids had such a great time and it was a terrific
opportunity for us to get to know them more.
