February 17, 2005 --  Meet Liman


Today we would like for you to meet Liman (38), the owner of a thriving mini market in the village of Marikaj.  In his shop he stocks an extensive inventory of everything from A to Z (except for Diet Pepsi).  He has a big smile, an honest heart, and keeps himself busy trafficking in goodwill.  His store supplies  many of the items we need for our kids' program, though none of his three children attend.  In the course of our business with him I've noticed that Liman is adept at quickly making change in his head.  We think you will enjoy reading his thoughts in the interview below.
 

Does your name mean anything?
My name represents the heritage of my family.  It was the name of my grandfather and who I lived with for 13 years.

What was the most dangerous episode of your life?

The troubles of the year 1997 when the army warehouses were opened and our lives were in danger.

When are you the happiest?
I am happy when my family has good health, and in every familiar enjoyment.

What is the best job you have had?
I've always worked as a salesman and I think it is a good job.

What makes you feel rich?
My children make me feel very rich.

What is your favorite season of the year?

Spring

What is the best advice your father gave you?
Don't do to others what you do not want them to do to you.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Notre Dame, Paris

Who is the person you most respect in the world?
Bill Clinton

What do you think of Albania?
Albania is a strategic country in Europe and rich in natural resources.  Our political direction is not right which slows economical development.

What is the name of your favorite television program?
I like real events.

What would you ask to an American?
I would ask how America achieved democracy and how Americans serve this democracy.
