February 4, 2005 --  John the Baptist

Straight off the edge of the wilderness here in Albania the forerunner of Jesus paid a visit to our club meeting.  Kasalle, not known for its locusts and honey or camel hair, opened its collective arms to the historical biblical figure of John the Baptist.
Tani, one of our good, very good young guys from the village did an excellent job of portraying John in such a way that the young people began to understand the role of being forerunners for Jesus Christ.  Our lesson’s aim was for the village children to hit their target spiritually. They need to aim at what God has placed in their heart, focus their eyes on the vision needed for readiness and make confession for sin that yields a repentant heart.
It’s a great lesson to learn, making ready for the way of Jesus.  Our lesson next week features heaven opening up and a local dove descending.  Stay tuned.  It should be fun.
