"No Static At All-FM"
Communication is so vital in any culture, for any purpose! Milton, the
famous poet, once said, "When good is communicated, it grows!"
Trying to promote good has been one of our main goals in the villages. We
can do this better now, with the help of our new FM band radios.
For some time we have realized our need to communicate from village to
vehicle or from team to team leader. Because of our ever extending circle
of villages, we felt it necessary to "keep in touch." Our radios
do beneficial work in the village by finding lost team members, seeking help for
mechanical breakdowns, and even inquiring about closed roads.
Mandi and I were required to pass the Albanian exam for a radio license and
are required to have documented with the government the whereabouts of the
radios. What the testing official failed to brief me about was the
Albanian custom of taking language lessons over the air -- those you have to do
in person! 10-4 good buddy.
