Personally
Personally-Summers end.
I’ve always
loved the adage, “ It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.” Our farm and
family are getting ready to hear summer’s lady belt out her final lines.
A summer’s end on the farm brings to an end the growing season and the
threshold of an active pursuit of fall. Green slowly gives way to amber in a tug
of war between light and temperature. Only our green beans keep their color
until the frost. God’s cycle continues.
Summer brought its usual array of reunions, camps for Hannah, a trip to
Albania, a 100th birthday celebration for Sarah’s grandmother and
ongoing plans for this October’s wedding of Jenny and Seth.
One of the happier moments for us this summer was the surprise of a huge card
shower. We want to thank those of you who sent us cards and greetings for the
celebration of our 30th anniversary. Collectively, the cards made up
an 8-inch stack and many hours of pleasure reading your expressions of love and
kind words. Together we praise God for a wonderful partnership, union and
marriage!
Personally to
all of you,
David and Sarah
