Gini
It is easy
to imagine Gini coming to
the Bright Star meetings. Her journey crosses the village landscape, typical in
most areas, a land common with stones and narrow rocky trails, a sure footed
little traveler, rich in the awareness of her steps.
There is a whirl of business along her walk,
neighbors in doorways, dogs lying along the path, cows close to the garden, the
smell of onions and garlic. But focus is on her mind today. There is a great
soar in her spirits and steps.
Gini is one of the many regular participants of our meetings, one of our
favorites. We have the pleasure and responsibility to bring something to her
village that she and the others never had before, the story of Jesus. And with a
gentle heart, with love and kindness, God can rescue from the misery of a world
apart from Christ, the people of Albania.
It is said that the main awakening of the human spirit is compassion. The
main function of propaganda is to suppress compassion. Communism stopped the
caring. The Party stopped the heart. When Christ’s love is poured out on Gini
and others, compassion has found a new home. There is always a place for a heart
that cares. There will always be a heart that hurts. Thanks for your help for
Gini and others.
