Fall
would be a perpetual season if I had my way. I love the sun-dried corn, the
carpet of leaves throwing color at you in heaps, and the promise of winter in
every northern breeze. Every sight and sound of autumn is rhythmic.
Our family had a fall wedding, one that
shows there is very little distance between two hearts. Young hearts have a way
of breaking through the crust that older people develop over the years. Jenny
and Seth’s ceremony was spirit-filled, God-oriented and a blessing to attend.
They are living out their now-established Vermont dreams in regular order.
Here in Illinois harvest was punctuated
by a quick trip to Albania in mid-October. A safe harvest secured an average
crop devoid of any climbing prices. We farmers are optimists hoping that fall
tillage (see picture) rings with the expectation that our occupation will
prevail next year.
Sarah and I are picturing our family’s
holiday season and hoping the best for you and yours!
