New Jersey Group Provides
Village VBS

PSF extends huge thanks to the members of
the team from Beacon Evangelical Church of Galloway, New Jersey for their
hard work and preparation in delivering a hugely successful VBS in the
village of Vlashaj.
Their preparation included memorizing Bible verses and skits in the
Albanian language, planning Bible studies for the Bright Star
Team and supplying detailed craft projects, Bible lessons, and
activities for the vacation Bible school.
This was the first group of any type hosted
by Planters in the village. In
spite of sporadic electricity and inconsistent running water, for nearly a
week the Beacon team enthusiastically lavished time and attention (and
sweat — did you hear about the heat wave in Europe this summer?)
on an ever-present group of village friends at the Vlashaj
ministry center. Following
VBS, if the team was not playing a round of volleyball, hop scotch,
Dominoes, or hair braiding, they were making home visits (they had more
invitations than they could fulfill) and exploring the grazing hills of
the village’s cows, sheep and goats with the help of their young, native
guides. Some members
of the Bright Star Team stayed in the village to serve as translators for the New Jersey team.
